Omni Cable Corporation (OmniCable) is proud to announce that it received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve’s (ESGR) Seven Seals Award in early November at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle, PA.
According to the ESGR’s website, the ESGR is a Department of Defense office established to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers as well as to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee’s military commitment. The office’s Seven Seals Award recognizes an individual or organization for their achievement, initiative, or support that promotes and supports the ESGR. “OmniCable is proud to have been chosen amongst 2,800 nominations for this prestigious and progressive award. The award builds upon ESGR’s Patriot Award, which recognizes an organization’s supervisor,” said Jill Schadler, Head of People & Development, OmniCable.
Travis Williams, Regional Manager of OmniCable’s Los Angeles location, nominated OmniCable for the Seven Seals Award. He is currently a Lieutenant Commander (LCDR) holding the position of SEAL Team-17 UNDERSEA Operations Officer in the Selected Reserve.
Williams was the first military reserve employee hired by OmniCable. He was deployed to Afghanistan from June 15, 2012 – April 9, 2013. While he was overseas, Williams said that OmniCable and numerous electrical distributors sent him and his team care packages, continued to pay his salary, medical, dental, life, and Employee Stock Owned Program (ESOP) benefits as well as hosted conference calls wishing him well. “OmniCable demonstrated the highest level of support worthy of the award,” said Williams. “From personal, family, and external marketing support, OmniCable showed me why it is such a great American company willing to sacrifice for the defense of the United States and support the military members abroad,” he added.
Schadler and Steve Glinski, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), accepted the award at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center. “We were thrilled to accept the Seven Seals Award on behalf of Travis and all of the employee-owner veterans here at OmniCable,” said Schadler. “As the Head of People & Development, showing genuine above and beyond support for our military employee-owners enables OmniCable to have a wonderful recruitment brand as we look to hire even more of those who have served our country and can help us grow,” she added.
